Piers Morgan slams 'spoiled twerp' Prince Harry over claims he had 'no support'
Piers Morgan has lashed out at “spoiled twerp” Prince Harry over claims the royal had “no support” after serving in the war in Afghanistan.
The 38-year-old’s new Netflix docu-series Heart of Invictus launched on Wednesday and, during one episode, Harry revealed he struggled with his mental health after returning home following two tours of Afghanistan. The Duke of Sussex served in the Army for 10 years, and discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder in a candid chat with cameras for his new show. But he said despite going through a breakdown, he received no help from his loved ones.
“The biggest struggle for me was no one around me really could help. I didn’t have that support structure, that network, or that expert advice to identify what was actually going on with me,” he shared. Harry’s mental health was severely impacted by the death of his mother, Princess Diana, and he admitted a lot of his trauma was linked to him being “unable to feel emotion” following her tragic passing.
Harry spoke about his mental health in his new Netflix documentary (Netflix)However, some have criticised Harry for taking aim at the Royal Family, and seemingly slamming them for leaving him to struggle with his mental health alone. “Harry claims he had 'no support' for his mental health issues after Afghanistan tour in his new Netflix series….despite previously telling one interviewer how much his brother had helped him,” one fumed on X.
Former Good Morning Britain host Piers spotted the tweet and re-shared it on Wednesday, and added his own take on the drama surrounding the prince. “Are recollections varying again?” he fired. “So sick of this spoiled twerp constantly playing the victim - and lying about the support he got.”

Harry spoke about going to therapy after hitting 'rock bottom' (Getty Images)His followers were quick to support the controversial journalist, with one replying: “They certainly are Piers - agree with you 100%.” Another added: “It's their only way to make money...they don't know how to do anything else.” While one chimed in: “I just don’t understand why he lies when he knows the truth is on record via his own words from his own mouth. He’s an absolute clown.”
Speaking in the Heart of Invictus docu-series, Harry said he wanted to tackle the “stigma” surrounding mental health in the military, and even took part in group therapy sessions alongside athletes during the Invictus Games in 2022. During an emotional chat with one veteran, the dad-of-two revealed he had been “unable to cry” following the death of his mother, and the grief began “fizzing up” after a mystery incident when he was 28.
“For all those years, I had no emotion, I was unable to cry, I was unable to feel. I didn’t know it at the time. And it wasn’t until later in my life, aged 28, there was a circumstance that happened that the first few bubbles started coming out, and then suddenly it was like someone shook and it went ‘shwoosh’. And then it was chaos,” he candidly shared.
