UFC president Dana White has rubbished this week's reports of a return to the octagon for legendary former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 300 next year.

Earler this week the Daily Mail reported that a close confidant of Rousey's had confirmed she was in talks to make a return to fighting at the age of 36 for one last run. She will have been out of action for what would be over seven years by the time the pay-per-view event comes around, opting to quietly hang up the gloves after two KO defeats.

But after staying in shape through her world championship seasons with the WWE in the interim, a report indicated that Rousey was considering a comeback. White was unaware of such reports before being asked about them at a press conference following Tuesday night's episode of Contender Series, and rubbished the outlet where the story was initially run.

"Who reported that?" White responded. "Would I welcome it? Ronda's having kids, Ronda built this whole thing that's going on with the women here.

"Then her dream was to go to the WWE, she went there and did everything she did there and achieved. She's made s*** loads of money, she's moving on with her life."

After making history alongside Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair as the first women to headline WrestleMania in 2019, Rousey took some time off for her family. She became a mother in September of 2021 with husband and former heavyweight contender Travis Browne, and could welcome another child in the future.

"She just had a match at SummerSlam and is looking to wind down her time and commitments with the WWE," A close 'confidant' told Daily Mail of Rousey's situation. "And she is now focusing on potentially making a run to have one last fight in the UFC and compete at UFC 300 when that presents itself sometime next year."

"She really wants to do it all," the friend added, after also noting that she could return to reality TV show 'Stars on Mars'. "But in the next few months don't be caught off guard that she is having another kid because that is something she feels is one of the most important things to happen for her again."
