Ashley James devastated as holidaymaker dies just meters away from her
Ashley James has revealed she witnessed a stranger receiving CPR just meters away from her and her young daughter.
The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant is currently in Bruges with her partner Tommy Andrews as well as their two children, Alfie, two, and daughter Ada, five months. But while they might be escaping the hustle and bustle of London life, the 36-year-old was met with a devastating reality.
While Tommy and their son Alfie had time together away from Ashley and Ada who remained at the hotel, the Made In Chelsea star decided to head out with Ada. But she later found herself completely devastated as she attempted to make her way towards the exit of their hotel.
Taking to Instagram, Ashley explained she wasn't sure she was ready to share what she had witnessed but reminded her followers to take every moment with loved ones in. The tragic incident has since been replaying in her mind since she witnessed it earlier in the week.
In view of her 341,000 Instagram followers, the presenter and DJ shared a slew of snaps from her European trip alongside the caption: "Hello, I just want to check-in. We're on a family European road trip. We dreamt about travelling during Tommy's paternity leave with Alfie, but it ended up being lockdown. So anyway, here we are now.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filming"I've got so much to catch you all up on, but let me begin by saying Bruges is beautiful. So so beautiful. A little stressful with two babies - we spend most of the time saying how my h we can't wait to come back on our own as it's so romantic, but I'm so happy to be here creating memories with the littles."
She continued: "We had an awful experience though. I can't stop thinking about it, and I've not really known whether to share it or not. I still don't know. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I still don't know. TW: Death. A man died in our hotel. Tommy and Alf went out in the morning and left Ada and I in our room. Our room was about 10 steps up some stairs and at the bottom of the stairs was another room.
"Tommy couldn't get into the hotel and I couldn't get out of the room, and for a split second Tommy thought it could have been Ada or I as I'd misplaced my phone. Anyway, it is definitely a reminder of how precious life is. How we shouldn't go to bed angry with people we love. Of how short life can be. It keeps replaying in my mind. And also, wow, paramedics are just heroes, aren't they. For now I guess I just want to say, life is too short to not be doing that thing you want to do... hug your loved ones. And try not to go to bed upset with anyone."
Ashley's upsetting admission comes just weeks after she claimed she was denied pain relief during Alfie's "uncontrolled birth". "I had a lot of anxiety too because it was during lockdown and partners weren’t allowed in the room until you were in active labour, so I had a huge fear of doing most of it on my own," she told OK!. Ashley shared how she was also stitched up incorrectly, which made her recovery longer.
