The PS Plus Essential September 2023 free games lineup will be revealed later this week here's exactly when we'll find out what's to come.

PS Plus Essential is the cheapest version of the three-tiered PlayStation subscription service gives you three free games each month which you can redeem and have on your account forever as long as you stay subscribed. The PS Plus August 2023 lineup included indie darling Death's Door, impressive game creation tool Dreams and some good old golf with PGA Tour 2K23, these titles will be available until September 5, 2023, so make sure to redeem them before then.

It's quite an unconventional month as before we've even written this, the first PS Plus Essential September 2023 leak has arrived, revealing that 2022's reboot of Saints Row will be headlining the free game lineup this month. This title brings back the classic GTA competitor and plants it into a new location with a brand new cast. While reviews branded the open world as dated, those who are looking for something evocative of the Xbox 360 and PS3 era of open world games may get a kick out of it.

We will likely have to wait until the official reveal time to find out which two games are joining Saints Row in the PS Plus Essential September 2023 games

PS Plus Essential September 2023 reveal time

The PS Plus Essential lineup for each month is usually revealed on the final Wednesday of the month prior over on the PlayStation Blog (unless the first day of the month lands on a Wednesday, it'll be revealed then in that case). So assuming that next month's lineup will follow that trend, the PS Plus Essential September 2023 free games will be announced on Wednesday, August 30 at 4.30pm BST / 11:30am EDT / 8:30am PDT.

PS Plus Essential games are made available on the first Tuesday of every month, which means they'll be available to download on Tuesday, September 5 at 10am BST / 5am EDT / 2am PDT. The three games offered will only be available until the next batch is released, so you'll need to add the PS Plus Essential September 2023 games to your library before October 3, 2023. And again you still have time to add the PS Plus Essential August 2023 games to your library until Tuesday, September 5, so make sure you do that.

PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will have to wait an extra week to find out which games they'll be treated to for September, with the reveal set for Wednesday, September 13, before releasing the following Tuesday, September 19.
