Jake Paul was exactly right with Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois prediction

Jake Paul accurately predicted that Oleksandr Usyk would stop Daniel Dubois in the ninth round of their heavyweight world title bout last night in Poland.

The American social media sensation, who is also a 7-1 professional boxer, travelled across the world to Wroclaw in order to join the 40,000+ fans in attendance at Usyk's latest title defence in Wroclaw. It was as much of a homecoming as is possible for the Ukrainian at the moment given circumstances in the region, and saw a massive crowd come out to support their man.

But it looked as though he may be in trouble early as in the fifth round Dubois landed a huge punch that floored Usyk, although it was immediately scored as a low blow. After a lengthy break to recover from the shot, the champion arose and continued his dominance before dropping his rival in round eight and finishing him in the ninth.

And Paul had predicted exactly that finish in a video for his sports media and betting company Betr. He was asked by someone behind the camera how the fight would go, to which he replied: "Oh man, I like both fighters but I think Usyk is going to TKO him down the stretch around the ninth round".

His promotional company noted the uncanny result, writing in a tweet after the fight "He called it! 9th round." He celebrated the correct prediction, which was priced as high as 66/1 with some bookmakers, with a similar tweet that read "Told y’all. 9th round."

Paul had spent time with Usyk before the fight and was in the ring afterwards, repeating the Ukrainian's famous catchphrase from before he could speak English "I am feel, I am very feel". The pair appeared to be friendly as they posed together pre-fight and had a quiet word immediately following the bout.

He also showed respect for the venue, writing on Twitter hours before heading to the stadium: "So much respect for Usyk for putting this fight on as close as possible to Ukraine. Equally much respect for Dubois taking on the challenge of Usyk +40,000 fans. Can’t wait.

Usyk is a rare cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion who was undisputed at 200lb before moving up and relieving Anthony Joshua of his three major belts in 2021. He is now pursuing an unprecedented double-reign as undisputed; but will need to entice Tyson Fury into the ring which has proven difficult thus far.
