West Ham United will head to Cyprus in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League, after David Moyes' men were handed a showdown with AEK Larnaca.

Europe has handed the Hammers respite from their Premier League struggles this season, with Moyes' side having won all six of their group matches in the competition - becoming the first side ever to do so.

Last season's Europa League semi-finalists will be big favourites to reach the quarter-finals, and will hope that success can help kickstart a push up the Premier League table; they currently sit in the relegation zone. They will visit Cyprus on March 9, with the return leg at the London Stadium on March 16.

Elsewhere, 2021 Europa League winners and last season's Champions League semi-finalists, Villarreal, will meet Belgium's biggest club, Anderlecht.

Maurizio Sarri's Lazio will meet Dutch side AZ Alkmaar while fellow Serie A side Fiorentina take on Turkish outfit Sivasspor.

In the Europa League, Arsenal will play Sporting Lisbon in the last 16.

The Gunners, who advanced to this stage as group winners, will take on the Portuguese side over two legs. Sporting, who were runners-up in this competition in 2004-05, will face north London opposition again after they were in Tottenham’s Champions League group.

Manchester United’s reward for beating Barcelona in the play-off round is more Spanish opposition in the shape of Real Betis.

Let's get involved shall we!

Fixture No.1 coming up...

Dragging it out a little longer

Tobias Hedtstuck is back.

UEFA's head of...well who knows.

Job titles for all sorts these lads.

Anyway, he's explaining how there are two pots for seeded and unseeded teams and that a ball from each will be picked., but there's another bowl because teams from same nations can't play.

It sounds super hard. *Rolls eyes*.

Giorgio's back

In case you didn't get enough of Mr. Marchetti earlier, he's back for this draw.

And he's got a former Liverpool star in tow to help: Vladimir Smicer.

A UEFA Cup and Champions League winner while at Anfield.

He's the UEFA Conference League Ambassador this year.

Next Round Dates + Full Schedule

Here we go!

OK the ceremony for this one is underway in Nyon.

Pedro Pinto is talking once more, paying a little tribute to Basel.

Why them? Not a clue. Just happy they're still int he competition it seems.

Anyway, expect the usual UEFA mishmash of pointlessness before we get underway.

West Ham's great record.

West Ham United topped Group B with a record six wins out of six back in November.

They did the double over Silkeborg of Denmark, Anderlecht of Belgium and Steaua Bucharest of Romania to collect 18 perfect points – becoming the first club in the competition’s two-year history to do so.

100 clubs started in this competition and now we're down to 16. Can the Hammers be winners?

Europa Conference League Unseeded Sides

Europa Conference League Seeded Sides

Eight teams who won their groups. Villarreal the big name here, but obviously, Unai Emery has since departed.

Right then, Europa Conference League next...

So the Europa League is done. Long live the Europa League.

But next up from the not-so-fictional town of Nyon, is the Europa Conference League draw.

West Ham are involved. They'll be hoping for a nice draw to offer a happy distraction away from their Premier League struggles.

Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself

Manchester United vs Barcelona produced fireworks.

United vs Real Betis, an exciting, technical side, could hopefully produce similar.

However, Manuel Pellegrini's record in European competitions against United doesn't bode well two wonderful matches.

Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

One you might have missed

Good spot from BT Sport (credit where due).

Arsenal vs Sporting means Hector Bellerin takes on his old club.

He joined the Portuguese side last month after struggling at Barcelona, in desperate need of minutes.

You'd think he'll get a fine reaction at the Emirates.
