Jesy Nelson 'splits' from musician boyfriend after almost a year of dating
Jesy Nelson has split from fellow musician Zion Foster after nearly a year of dating.
The former Little Mix songstress, 32, started growing close to Zion, 23, last year during a romantic trip to Jamaica. At the time, the pair are said to have wanted to keep their relationship away from social media while getting to know one another and enjoying their luxury holiday in the Caribbean.
At the time, sources said the pair hadn't decided to make their relationship official as they were still in the early stages but being in Jamaica was the perfect place to relax around one another. But just one month later, the pair made their relationship official and were snapped together for the first time in January.
A source close to Jesy told The Mirror: “Jesy is in a different head space from Zion these days. She is after all a few years older than Zion and has a different way of looking at things these days. They had a great trip abroad but since they got back, Jesy has realised it’s time to move on.”
Elsewhere, insiders have claimed they've gone their separate ways following a recent trip to America. Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "It's hard to make sense of it right now because they appeared to be so loved up." Zion, who boasts 219,000 followers on Instagram has now unfollowed Jesy and removed any trace of her from his profile.
Celeb Bake Off line-up in full - including Friends legend and Little Mix iconThey had previously shared loved-up snaps including them kissing, dancing with one another and lovingly gazing at each other. Jesy last took to social media to gush over Zion on June 14 as she shared a string of snaps with her ex-boyfriend. Captioning her upload, she penned: "Down to ride to the very end," alongside a white heart emoji.
Prior to this, the couple enjoyed a holiday with friends following the release of her single Bad Thing, which Zion joined her for the premiere of. In June, Jesy announced that she had scrapped plans for her third single and was taking time away from the music industry after deciding to make a huge change in her "rollercoaster" solo career.
Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: "Jesy has been listening to her critics. She is desperate to give fans something epic and is doing all she can to find her authentic sound, but the sudden change-up has unsettled her camp. Last year, most of her debut album was believed to be done - even the artwork was in place - but Jesy has since done a huge u-turn and everything is being reworked, even the aesthetic as it doesn't match her new uptempo direction. It's all a bit of a mess."
Jesy had previously announced that she was taking time away despite having some "really exciting things coming up" with her music as she wanted to go travelling. She told fans: "Hey guys! So for a long time I've really wanted to go travelling but never had the time to do it.
"I've got some really exciting things coming up with work and my music, but until then I'm gonna take the summer off to travel the world. I'm going to be off my social media for a while, I love you all so much and I'll see you when I'm back."
The Mirror has approached Jesy's spokesperson for comment.
