PFL CEO Peter Murray has said that the promotion are still working on a deal to bring Jake Paul and Nate Diaz back together - this time in the cage.

The UFC legend made his boxing debut earlier this month against Paul, losing a ten-round decision after declaring that his opponent "can't really fight". For his part, the YouTube star has claimed that there is a $10million offer on the table for a reverse fight inside the smart cage.

Paul signed earlier this year to commit to a fight with the PFL, who are MMA's No.2 promotion, and is eager for it to be against former lightweight title contender Diaz. Their boxing match sold a reported 500,000 units on pay-per-view in America and saw both men net deep into the eight-figures.

"Look at Jake Paul, we saw him a few weeks ago against Nate Diaz and he got the W," Murray told Mirror Fighting in New York ahead of the PFL's second round of playoffs. "We're excited for his debut in MMA. Obviously Jake takes boxing seriously, he's taking MMA seriously.

"We're looking forward to his debut which will likely be some time in 2024, we'll see about the $10million offer, there's more to come. We'll see, there are more details to follow but we're very excited about it."

Back in July, Paul took aim at social media users who asked why he has opted to face Diaz in the ring instead of bringing him into the cage, where he is a veteran. "For all the clowns saying 'why don’t you fight Nate Diaz in the cage'," He wrote. "I made that offer to him from the start. $10M to fight me in PFL after we box on August 5th. Offer is still there Nathan.

Diaz was initially less than enthused at the offer, declaring that he "doesn't fight for that organisation," in regards to PFL. However, he appears to be more keen of late, telling media including Mirror Fighting after the fight at the American Airlines Center that he would do it if it were a co-promotion with his Real Fight Inc.

“Let's do it. We’re going to have to co-promote with Real Fight Inc," he said. "He's big and he's tough, I wish I could have done better things but some s***, it didn't go the way I wanted it to. I should have trained better and done better things but it’s all good. He won this one but I'll fight anyone, I don't give a f***.”

PFL playoffs for lightweights and welterweights take place tonight at the Theatre in Madison Square Garden tonight live on DAZN. UK Viewers can tune in from 11pm.
