Selena Gomez to take social media break amid Kylie Jenner and eyebrow drama

Selena Gomez has had enough of negativity online and has decided to take a break from social media.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the 30-year-old singer said she is "too old" for jibes being made in her direction. She's been targeted by users over her eyebrows and an apparent feud with Kylie Jenner.

On Wednesday, rumours circulated that she had been shaded by the reality TV star, but both Selena and Kylie has revealed that's not the case.

The pair swapped messages on social media to deny any drama after a fan tried to claim otherwise. Resharing the video, Kylie wrote: "This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."

Selena replied: "Agreed @kyliejenner. It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!"

And sharing a further clip to her Stories, Selena went on to say: "I’m gonna be taking a second from social media cause this is a little silly and I’m 30. I’m too old for this."

In her seemingly final Instagram post for the foreseeable, Selena shared a snap of her sipping a cocktail. She captioned the post: "I deleted this one time because I thought maybe it was too much but eh (taking a break from social)."

Fans and friends were quick to praise the star. Among those gushing over the post was pal Nicola Peltz-Beckham, who wrote: "UMMM GIVE THE FANS WHAT WE WANT. MOST STUNNING GIRL EVER!"

A number of others simply replied with the word "queen" while others shared flame emojis.

It's not just her own social media comments that she's been following either. She jumped to the defence of best pal Taylor Swift after old footage came to light of her being mocked by Hailey Bieber.

The throwback clip showed Hailey and Method Man take aim at the singer for her choice of songs.

And after the clip was shared on social media, Selena quickly responded: "'Sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game."

Selena and Taylor grew close in 2008 when they were dating different Jonas brothers.
