Katie Price 'signs up babysitter to be surrogate mother for sixth child'
Katie Price has reportedly enlisted a fan who's babysat her kids to be the surrogate of her next child, according to an inside source.
The glamour model is determined to have a sixth baby with partner Carl Woods, but is no longer able to naturally conceive so because of her age. After a failed round of IVF last year, Katie has reportedly decided to have a 'fan' of hers carry her first child with the Essex car dealer.
"This woman has been over to stay at Katie's house and babysat her kids before," a source told the Sun on Tuesday. "It’s all back on track now Katie and Carl have reunited. They're both really excited about it."
If that wasn't exciting enough, the I'm A Celebrity star is also apparently looking to broadcast her surrogacy journey on TV. According to the insider, Katie is "shopping around a reality show again now" despite having "burned bridges at a few TV channels" with projects in the past. She also apparently hopes the surrogate has twins, meaning that her number of children could jump to seven within the next year. Katie is currently mum to five kids, including Harvey, 20, 17-year-old Junior, 15-year-old Princess, nine year-old Jett, and eight-year-old Bunny.
She confirmed she had secured a surrogate in April, admitting she hasn't "got any eggs anymore" so has had no choice but to seek out alternative options. "I’m 44, I want another baby so what am I supposed to do? I can’t pop it out," she told Lewis Raymond Taylor on Turning Adversity Into an Asset.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingShe echoed these sentiments on the podcast Rule Breakers, telling host Michelle Visage that she refuses to give up on her dreams of a bigger family. "I tried IVF last year and it failed - so I'm going to try again, try again. I'm not giving up. I need more babies," she said. When asked by the Radio 2 presenter if she'd frozen her eggs, Katie replied, "No, unfortunately, I can only use what I've got."
The reality TV star received backlash on Monday after revealing her concerning meal plan, which sometimes consists of just 755 calories a day. "If I have a bad day I like to go in a calorie deficit to ensure it’s not a bad week!” she explained in a video about her favourite dishes for losing weight.
Katie's followers were quick to criticize the admission, with many taking to the comments to remind her that the NHS recommend an average daily calorie intake of 2,000 calories a day for women and 2,500 for men.
The Mirror has contacted Katie's representatives for comment on this story.
