Rachel Zegler was spotted out and about in New York City following being hit with a major backlash. The star who first saw fame for her role in West Side Story, is set to star as Snow White in an upcoming live film adaptation.

In the photos, Rachel Zegler looked glum as she carried some envelopes and paperwork with her as she walked down the street in New York. She wore a pair of black biker shorts and an Ariana Grande merchandise jumper which read 'no tears left to cry' upside down. Underneath her sweatshirt, she wore a black undershirt that peeked out around the collar.

Additionally, she accessorized with a shiny black bag on her shoulder, while she styled her hair into a relaxed ponytail.

She kept her presence low key with a pair of black sunglasses. As for jewellery, she threw in some hooped earrings and a silver ring on her finger. Rachel opted for the classic wired earphones rather than Bluetooth, wearing them like an accessory. To complete the look, she wore white trainers for her downtown stroll.

When a video of Rachel discussing the film with Entertainment Weekly dropped, fans were not pleased because she revealed that she had never really been a fan of Snow White before being cast in the role. In fact, she hadn't really watched it until she was doing research for her character. Rachel also indicated that this Snow White story was going to be a bit different.

She told ExtraTV: " [The adaptation is] not going to be dreaming about true love, she’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be.”
