Kate Garraway has been supported by her fans after her Life Stories show was hit with a wave of complaints.

The Good Morning Britain host was hit out at by viewers who questioned her interviewing techniques. The latest episode of the ITV show aired on Wednesday night with Iranian-British actor, comedian and writer Omid Djalili in the hot seat. He opened up on her erratic home life and bumpy school years. Omid shared how he had taken his A levels six times, forged exam results and was turned down from 16 different drama schools.

He was able to work through the many setbacks and launch a successful acting career ranging from Hollywood films to the West End stage. Omid also told Kate about how he continued writing jokes about race and religion despite threats to his personal safety. Despite the powerful interview, some viewers were left critiquing the show.

"Kate Garraway doesn’t seem to let any guest properly reply to her questions without her chucking another one at them. It’s quite difficult to watch. Messes with the rhythm and flow of the chat," said one viewer. While another added: "Garraway was awful in her ability to get the best out of Omid."

Yet many came to Kate's defence and praised the presenter for her work. One said: "Nice to be able to watch #LifeStories with Kate Garroway. Before, I had to weigh up if the guest was interesting enough to put up with Piers Morgan." Another wrote: "Great interview- great comedian!"

"Just watched Omid fantastic interview /show you are one funny, amazing, resilient and brave man," commented a third. One fan gushed: "Brilliant show," as someone else wrote: "Kate Garraway is so much better than Piers Morgan at this."

Kate has returned with the candid interview show with a whole range of celeb guests who reveal all about their lives during a one-hour chat. During the latest series, Kate has interviewed Strictly star Anton Du Beke, comedian and presenter Ruby Wax and Omid Djalili. In the first episode with Anton, viewers were stunned to hear he had been stabbed by his father as a child.

Anton revealed his late Hungarian alcoholic father stabbed him him in the leg and in the stomach over the Christmas period. The Strictly star admitted he'd "never spoken" about the violent incident before while his wife watched on in the audience. Following the bombshell interview, Kate confirmed the dancer's wife had no idea about the incident in her husband's past until he revealed all during filming. On The One Show, Kate said: "[His father] was cleared of the charges of stabbing Anton, of wounding, but the good thing now, his family and lovely wife Hannah didn’t know, his in-laws didn’t know."

She added: "I think he’s incredibly brave. I’m really proud of him and I think it will be an extraordinary watch tonight… Its so unexpected, it took everyone’s breath away. He’s just very brave and wonderful, and I hope people react to it like that, I think he wants to feel he’s sharing some good and not just for the sake of it."
