Kylie Jenner responds to claims she was 'mocking' Selena Gomez in eyebrow post
After fans spotted an odd post on Kylie Jenner's Instagram, the TV personality has had to clear the air as she was accused of "mocking" actress Selena Gomez.
The odd interaction came after the Only Murders In The Building star posted a TikTok story, joking she had "accidentally laminated [her] brows too much".
Showing off her a new look using a social media filter with make-up inspired by Bella Hadid, Selena captioned the video saying she wished she looked "as pretty" as the supermodel.
She said: "My name… my name is Bella Hadid" then in a follow-up video added: "Instead, this is me. I laminated my brows too much."

Kylie then posted a series of odd images to her Instagram story (kyliejenner/Instagram)Selena's joke was quickly overshadowed by Kylie Jenner 's Instagram story which showed a screenshot of her and her friend Hailey Bieber on FaceTime. Both women had put their eyebrows to the camera for a close-up, which fans said was "mocking" Selena's video.
The story was posted about three hours after Selena's original video, leading fans to believe it was directed at the Hands to Myself singer. Kylie had also posted a selfie of herself and wrote "this was an accident?" adding to the speculation.
Multiple TikToks quickly popped up analysing the interaction, asking if the Instagram story was an accident and discussing the history between the two stars.
Kylie responded to one of these videos and commented: "This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts. You guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."
Selena agreed and added: "It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie's."
While this incident might be water under the bridge, fans pointed out it isn't the first time Kylie and her best friend Hailey Bieber have appeared to poke fun at the actress.
Since Selena dated Hailey's husband Justin Bieber on and off for years, the two women have been pitted against each other.
"It’s not even a thing," said the actress in an interview for OK Magazine after the pair posted a cute photo together to show there was no issue.
The Disney alum recently overtook the reality star as the most followed person on Instagram, racking up 381 million followers compared to Kylie's 380 million.
Back in 2019, Selena was the most followed woman but was overtaken by singer Ariana Grande, who then lost out to Kylie. Fans are happy that the crown has been returned to the Calm Down singer, saying: "Selena Gomez is once again the most followed woman on Instagram. Queen is back!"
