Kim Kardashian poses with huge creepy spider as AHS launch date is announced
The launch date of the next season of American Horror Story (AHS) has been announced, alongside new posters of Emma Roberts and co-star Kim Kardashian in character.
It was announced earlier this year that Kim, 42, had been given a role on the twelth season of the anthology show, alongside returning cast member Emma, 32. AHS: Delicate is also set to feature Cara Delevingne, among others.
The season looks set to be released in at least two volumes, with it having been revealed earlier that 'part one' will premiere September 20 on FX and Hulu in the US. It's yet to be confirmed when the season will premiere in the UK.
The launch date was unveiled alongside two new posters for the upcoming season of the show - which was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. They were released through the official Instagram account for AHS on Tuesday.
One poster showed Emma sporting a baby bump. She was seen stood in front of a cloudy backdrop and a full moon, with a spider rested on her stomach. A caption with the photo on the platform read: "Don't worry. We'll hold you."
Kim Kardashian weighs in on sister feud after Kourtney's sad 'outsider' claimsAnother poster showed Kim, also in character, sporting platinum blonde hair and exaggerated eyelashes. She too had a giant spider on her stomach. A caption alongside the reality TV star's poster teased: "You're in our web now."
The new season is said to be based on the upcoming novel Delicate Condition. The book, written by author Danielle Valentine, is due to be released later this week, just over a month prior to the launch date of AHS: Delicate.
Potential details have previously been teased. The Hollywood Reporter once shared that the source material is about a woman who becomes convinced that a "sinister figure" is trying to "make sure her pregnancy never happens."
The show's co-creator Ryan previously said that the season is "ambitious and unlike anything [they] have ever done". He added that reality TV star Kim had been given "a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role" for her debut on AHS.
The new season marks Emma's return to the franchise. She previously appeared in the third season (Coven), the fourth season (Freak Show), the seventh season (Cult), the eighth season (Apocalypse) and the ninth season (1984).
Kim has spoken about working on the show, including in an interview with Variety in May. She said at the time that she was "excited" and added: "It's really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow."
