Spencer Matthews hospitalised on family holiday after overdosing on tablets

Spencer Matthews was hospitalised for two days of his family holiday after overdosing on coldsore tablets, his wife Vogue Williams has revealed.

Vogue explained that their peaceful Spanish getaway was shattered after she became really ill with a sickness bug - and that husband Spencer was also left struggling and landed up in a hospital bed. Her auntie, who had joined them on the escape, also became ill for four days.

Speaking about how their holiday rapidly went downhill on her podcast, My Therapist Ghosted Me, she joked to her co-host Joanne McNally: "Spenny was hospitalised for two days because he is a little b***h and he can’t handle it."

Shocked by the admission, Joanne asked the reason why he ended up in hospital. "Well I will tell you what, he overdosed on coldsore tablets," Vogue replied. "I am not joking, I am not joking, I’m not. He overdosed on cold sore tablets and his liver function, because he did it for a full week, taking ten of these things and he said ‘oh they’re fine’ and he did it to me when I thought I felt a tingle and he said ‘darling take six of these and you’ll be fine’ and you’re only meant to take two."

However, she did add that she wasn't sure that an "overdose" was the reason and it was likely the sickness bug that had infected the family, but that Spencer in particular had struggled with it.

The couple had been joined by their three children on holiday - four-year-old Theodore, Gigi (three) and one-year-old baby son Otto. They had also been celebrating Gigi's birthday on the trip, with Spencer sharing an adorable tribute to her: "Happy birthday Gigi bear."

It comes after Vogue last month stunned fans by confessing exactly how often she and husband Spencer have sex. Discussing what happens in the bedroom during an episode of their podcast Spencer & Vogue, the husband-and-wife duo confessed they have had sex every single night for the past few weeks.

The Irish model told listeners: “Couples are having sex less than ever before - 30% less than our parents." But Spencer piped up: "Not in our house. Okay, I’m going to put something out there and it’s going to upset a lot of parents. You and I have sex all the time, ok, so listen to this - we have sex quite a lot, don’t we? We’re on a real hot streak. The last three or four weeks - there’s probably only about two nights where we haven’t had sex."
