Nick Knowles lands huge global television show just days after getting engaged
Much-loved TV star Nick Knowles is said to have landed an impressive worldwide travel show just days after he celebrated getting engaged.
The DIY SOS presenter has a lot to celebrate after he recently got down on one knee to his partner Katie Dadzie with a Haribo ring whilst in the USA. Nick is set to continue his globetrotting adventures as he is said to have signed up for a new series with Channel 5. The show, Nick Knowles: Into…, has reportedly entered production and will see him travel from one side of the world to the other.
It comes after he got a taste for travel shows earlier this year when he went on a tour of the Grand Canyon for the channel. In the two-part special the 60-year-old presenter hurtled across the iconic landmark on a zipline. A source shared of the new show: “This new series has big things planned, with Nick travelling to an expansive list of destinations.
“Sadly, it doesn’t appear Katie will be joining him, which means they could be apart for some time," they told The Sun. It's claimed the DIY SOS star asked Katie Dadzie, 33, for her hand in marriage during a trip to America last month, where Nick has been filming recently. The happy couple have been loved-up since 2021, after meeting at a play centre where their respective children struck up a friendship.
Nick has previously defended his girlfriend after vicious Twitter bullies branded her a 'gold digger' after noting the 27-year age gap between the pair. The TV star was married to his first wife Gillian, from 1995 until 2000 and then moved on to date TV presenter Suzi Perry from 2000 until 2003. The DIY guru then married Jessica Moore – who is 26 years his junior - and welcomed a son named Eddie with the TV star prior to their split in 2016.
Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen sparks concern with 'crumbling' Ravenseat picsHe has previously hit back at critics taking swipes over his age-gap romance, defending business owner Katie. "Normally I never comment back to the trolls, but on one occasion when people were a little bit judgmental, I was angry on Katie's behalf," he told The Sun. "I chose to be on telly so I kind of expect it for me, but for people I care about they shouldn't have to deal with it. I'm protective of Katie because people make assumptions about her without knowing anything about her, so that's why I spoke."
Nick's comments came after he earlier hit out at trolls who accused Katie of being with him for his money - despite the fact that she’s actually more successful than he is. He wrote a furious response of Twitter, beginning: "I’m raging. The woman I was out to dinner with when we were papped is 32, has degrees in two subjects, runs 3 businesses, is a mother of 2, is wealthier & more successful than me & is intelligent & independent unlike the abusive trolls attacking her."
