Amid speculation they were dating earlier this year, rumours continue to swirl over whether Lewis Hamilton and Shakira are heading for a romantic relationship.

Hamilton has endured a mixed Formula One season to date, having picked up 148 points from 12 races. The 38-year-old most recently finished fourth at the Belgian Grand Prix - the same position he occupies in the drivers standings behind Charles Leclerc, Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen.

Pop icon Shakira, who split with ex-husband Gerard Pique in 2022, has been romantically linked with Hamilton, with the pair said to be in a situation which is 'more than friendship'. But according to Jordi Martin, a journalist well-acquainted with Shakira, the duo know there is nothing serious and 'that there was total freedom between them to do whatever they wanted'

Hamilton and Shakira have met on multiple occasions over the past few months, with one of those coming at the British Grand Prix. According to The Sun, Shakira flew in just to watch Hamilton at Silverstone on Sunday, July 9, before heading out in London to celebrate his podium finish. The duo partied at regular celebrity bar Tape and stayed out until early the next morning together.

That was not the first time the duo have been spotted together, with Shakira also spending time at both the Spanish and Miami Grand Prix. However, there has been recent speculation that Hamilton had cooled things off as he felt Shakira was trying to make ex-Barcelona star Pique jealous.

On the track, Hamilton admitted he remains concerned over Mercedes' start to the season after the Belgian Grand Prix. "It was kind of a non-eventful race. There wasn't much going on and I wasn't able to keep up with the cars ahead of me," Hamilton told Sky Sports F1.

"Struggled at the beginning, rear end is our biggest issue and we had big bouncing this weekend, so we were back to the bouncing like we had last year. (The team) don't know (what's caused the bouncing). To me it is a concern but we'll work through the data this week and try and figure out what we do for the next race. I know what I want, I'm praying for it and I'm just waiting for the day we get it."
