Alfie Moon gets some worrying news on EastEnders next week.

Soap bosses have teased that there will be a tough road ahead for Alfie - played by Shane Richie - and it looks like that will begin next week when Alfie is given some worrying news. He has been struggling with things as of late, especially given that he wasn't able to spend long with the twins on their birthday, before Freddie jumped in to save the day with an early pirate themed party.

Next week on the BBC soap, Phil heads to the bookies and asks Alfie to look after Tommy and Ernie whilst Kat is busy visiting Little Mo. Freddie arrives, desperate for a pep-talk from Alfie, before letting slip that Tommy was the one who told him where to find Graham. Angry, Tommy and Alfie end up having a huge row and Tommy storms out.

Later, Alfie finds him at the park and orders him home, as things get worse. Phil sees it happen, and later shares some home truths with Alfie, who is desperate to try and make things work. He apologises for being an absent father, but things turn worse when he forbids him from seeing Perry. Having learnt about the punch, Phil notices that Alfie is still grimacing in pain and insists he visits the hospital.

He tries to distract himself, by focusing on Linda and her plan to fight for custody of Janine and Mick's baby. Alfie agrees to meet the solicitor with Linda, but Elaine doesn't think it's a good idea.

Later, Tommy sees Alfie heading in a cab to the hospital, but what does he find out? When he returns to Walford and attempts to apologise to Linda, she notices something is wrong and he's not his usual self. Alfie, meanwhile, is struggling to process the recent news, whilst Tommy admits he is worried about Alfie after seeing him head to the hospital, but what could be wrong?

Soap boss Chris Clenshaw teased a "tough road ahead" for Alfie.

"We have a big Slater summer with the intentions behind Theo, which will be revealed. Freddie will finally find out the truth about his dad. There’s going to be a tough road ahead for Alfie. We also have Rocky and Kathy’s nuptials and there is an unexpected guest who happens to arrive. And watch out for the cufflinks around these episodes," he said recently.
