One mum-of-three lost 4st in just half a year after starting small, with simple changes she said anyone could do.

Nine months after the birth of her youngest daughter, Rachael Sacerdoti, from London, weighed over 14st. The 44-year-old stay-at-home mum struggled with her weight and her feet would regularly turn red and swell when she walked.

But slowly, by improving her diet and eating healthily, and starting to exercise, Rachael began to lose weight consistently. The mum said that after giving birth in her early 30s, and gaining weight she had “lost herself” and “didn’t know who she was”. She described how she struggled with food her whole life and developed “bad food habits” that included snacking extensively.

The Mail reported Rachael also said she lacked an eating routine and would never eat "anything healthy". She also added that she never gave herself enough time with several previous attempts to lose weight over the years.

She said: "I wanted everything to be immediate, and it took until I was almost 40 to realise I had a long road ahead of me." She didn’t go to an expert, like a personal trainer or nutritionist, and did it all herself but over time began to see improvements.

Rachael continued: "I started in my bedroom, my safe space, and the progress was really slow but I started noticing a change in how I moved and ate. I fell in love with the routine and eating well - I lost 4.7st in about six months and I loved the way I looked."

As her eating habits and exercise routine improved, her confidence returned as well. She kept spending a portion of her morning, every single day, exercising to help her weight loss journey - which she said has helped improve how her family views being healthy.

It’s helped improved her children’s own diet, and aided them all in turning over a new leaf to focus on a healthier diet. She said it was about imbuing values in her children, and educating them to know about nutrition. Alongside that, Rachael changed her shopping habits, stocking up her family’s cupboards with healthier foods.
