Prince Harry's devastating seven-word response to William's text message

Prince Harry's seven-word response to a message by his brother Prince William in the wake of the Sussexes' Oprah interview has left viewers heartbroken.

In their Netflix show, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex explained the aftermath of their chat with the legendary presenter and a moment they shared was especially relevant. In the documentary, as Meghan Markle was talking to her friend Tyler Perry, she could be heard saying "Wow" after Harry showed her a message he received from his brother William.

Meghan said: "H just got a text... H just got a text from his brother." Harry's seven-word response was poignant as it showed his emotions when he said: "I wish I knew what to do." At that point, his wife responded: "I know. Let’s take a breather. Get some air and then decide."

The brief moment was quickly glossed over, the context of the text never revealed, and the documentary moved on - but fans of the Royal Family and Sussexes alike were left devastated as the brothers' fractured relationship was laid out for all to see, reports the Daily Star. "It's sad to see two brothers who were so close drift apart," one fan of the royals wrote on Twitter.

But others were sceptical of the intimate moment, wondering why cameras were around at the exact moment Prince William pressed "send" on the seemingly devastating text. "Lucky there was a camera crew around at the exact time Prince William texts Hazza," one fan wrote.

William found himself on the receiving end of a number of bombshell claims in the Netflix doc. The documentary explored Meghan's lengthy legal battle with the Daily Mail after a letter sent to her dad, Thomas Markle, was leaked in the paper. The Duke and Duchess accused an employee of the heir to the throne of giving an unnecessary witness statement against Harry and Meghan - an ordeal that saw Will take the heat from the scorned Sussexes.

Last month, Harry and Meghan's documentary was nominated by the Hollywood Critics Awards in the Best Streaming Nonfiction category. Announcing the news on Twitter, the organisation revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are up against Prehistoric Planet 2, Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss, Rennervations, The 1619 Project and The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy.

Despite mixed reviews, Harry and Meghan's documentary broke streaming records as it became the biggest Netflix documentary debut, with a total of 81.6 million hours watched on its first four days of release. "The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value. Harry & Meghan launched as Netflix's most spectacular documentary debut to date," a Netflix spokesperson said.
