It's going to be a late night for British fans who plan to stay up for the main event of Jake Paul's ring return against Nate Diaz.

The social media sensation lost his last outing to Tommy Fury, and will be looking to make a statement as he returns to the ring for the first time since Riyadh. However, he faces a stern test from UFC legend Diaz, who is finally making his first appearance outside of the octagon in over 15 years.

Diaz and Paul's hard-hitting main event will be supported by a world championship undercard that includes top prospects, legends of both MMA and boxing and even an undisputed title fight. If you plan to pull the all-nighter, you're unlikely to be disappointed by what you watch.

Here's all you need to know about the fights...

When is Jake Paul v Nate Diaz and what time does it start in the UK?

In American time, this show will take place tonight, August 5 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. However, British fight fans will be forced to watch in the early hours of Sunday morning, with DAZN advertising that the pay-per-view card will kick off at 2am in the UK.

The undercard features a number of six and eight-rounders, with a couple of tens for the women's fights, meaning main event ring walks will likely get underway quite late. Expect them to begin at around 5am once the undercard action has concluded, with the main event set to unfold at around 5:15am, assuming not all fights go the distance. This is subject to change.

The bookies are not giving Diaz much of a chance, despite his considerable amount of fighting experience over Paul, whose white collar debut was as recently as 2018. Boxers are generally edging the fight to the Ohio native, but he will likely be given a difficult night by Diaz, whose chin is renowned as one of MMA's best.

It will make for a fascinating betting prospect, with the outright winner markets likely not worth looking at for the night. The prices for finishes, knockdowns and even over/under are more attractive for punters who fancy making some money on this grudge match.

Paul: “Nate Diaz was always the plan after Tommy. That was what I said. Even in the build-up to Tommy, I was like it's Nate Diaz after Tommy Fury. So that was always the plan… This is a big fight. This is a fight that I've wanted for a long time. [Nate] got out of his UFC contract and this is probably the biggest fight of the year, only topping me versus Tommy."

Diaz: “Post-UFC, my plan was always to fight the biggest names and the best fighters there are. I've been trying to get out of the UFC for a long time because I knew I knew that I would work. What fighters worked and what I should do. I have a long road but he was doing the biggest and the best things for fighting and in fighting and I was glad. I had a worthy opponent to make an attack on, as soon as I got out.”
