Ferguson favourite makes "no complaints" claim about the Glazers at Man Utd
Sir Alex Ferguson's former coach Rene Meulensteen believes recent Manchester United managers can have "no complaints" about the Glazer family's investment into the squad.
The Red Devils haven't won a Premier League title since Ferguson retired a decade ago, with fans pinning the blame on the Glazers. They have been criticised for failing to invest sufficiently in United's infrastructure and taking money out of the debt-ridden club.
United fans are desperate for the Glazers to leave Manchester. The deeply unpopular owners put the club up for sale last November but are yet to name a preferred bidder in the takeover saga, with rumours suggesting they could complete a sensational U-turn.
While Meulensteen believes it's time for the Glazers to go because of their "complicated and disputable" reign, he does believe David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and now Erik ten Hag have been backed in the transfer market.
"If you look at it over the years that they've been there since they came in, and obviously I was there at the time, we never really had any wheelings or dealings with them," Meulensteen, who was one of Ferguson's coaches between 2007 and 2013, told talkSPORT.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dash"We were sort of in the background because Sir Alex was in control, together with David Gill, where they managed it perfectly well. It had no effect on everything that we wanted to do and achieve on the pitch. However, they did want to build this massive brand."
He added: "But if you sum it [their reign] up... complicated and disputable. Again, with regards to debt repayments, interest, what it would do, the fans seeing them taking money out, there is uncertainty and no clarity. What is the direction? What is the vision?

"Don't get me wrong, they have put their hand where their wallet is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think since Sir Alex left they have spent about £1billion for all of the other managers. Again, they are doing it now for Ten Hag. There are no complaints there."
INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani are both trying to complete a takeover of United. Ratcliffe wants to buy the Glazers' controlling stake in the club, while Sheikh Jassim wants to complete a full buyout.
It's believed the Glazers could decide against a sale after a lucrative sponsorship agreement was signed with Adidas until June 2035. The value of United could also increase over the next few days with the Premier League's television contracts up for renewal.
United fans would be furious with the Glazers if they didn't sell up. Meulensteen was asked whether he thinks it's time for them to go. He replied: "Yes. I would because I feel the owners need to have a connection and an affection with the club; that is not there.
"Like with a manager, the fans want an ownership that they can associate themselves with. It is exactly the same and they want to see that people care. Look at what happened to Wrexham. Those people care and they are clear, telling people what they are going to do and they are part of it. That is what I think the Man Utd fans are crying out for."
