Four Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, are charging a staggering £80 for their replica shirt this season.

With the new Premier League campaign on the horizon, fans of all 20 clubs will be rushing to buy their club's latest offering. But, as the cost of living crisis continues to bite, supporters of English football's biggest teams will find no respite.

The average price of a standard adult replica top has increase by an average of 12 per cent across the Premier League, compared to last season. The price of junior tops have also increase by an average of nine per cent.

The four clubs charging the most are Man Utd, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham. Spurs are charging fans a whopping £80 for a standard adult home shirt, while the authentic shirt - made to exact player specifications - comes in at an alarming £125.

Even Tottenham's junior replica shirt will cost parents £60 this year, as much as many clubs charge for an adult jersey. This year's shirt is also £5 more expensive than last season's, representing an increase of seven per cent on last year's cost.

Although Arsenal are also charging their fans £80 for an adult top, they offer a slightly cheaper version of their authentic shirt at £110. Man Utd and Manchester City have matched that price for their premium jersey.

Other clubs offering authentic versions of their shirts at a higher price include Liverpool (£114.95), Aston Villa (£115), Wolves (£115) and Crystal Palace (£70).

In terms of price increases, Nottingham Forest fans will have to pay £15.50 more this year after a rise of 26 per cent. That is the biggest price jump in the league.

Brentford have also put the cost of their adult shirts up from £49 to £60, although that is still cheap in comparison to the likes of Man Utd, Fulham, Tottenham and Arsenal. It's also important to note that this is Brentford's first new kit for two years, as they refused to bring out a new jersey for the 2022/23 campaign to save fans some money.

Brentford's chief executive Jon Varney said in November 2021: "Whilst it is not normal practice for Premier League clubs to roll a kit over for two seasons, fans have told us that they would be in favour of the savings that a two-season shirt would provide."

At the other end of the spectrum, Burnley have the cheapest Premier League replica shirt at just £55 for adult sizes. They are followed by fellow promoted side Luton Town (£59) and then Brighton, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Wolves, who all charge £60.

Chelsea and Sheffield United are the only clubs in the top flight yet to release their new kits for purchase this season. Neither team has confirmed a shirt sponsor.
