Taylor Swift 'gives $55 million bonuses' to staff on Eras Tour as US shows end

Taylor Swift reportedly gave out more than $55million (£43million) in bonuses to those working on her Eras Tour, as the North American leg draws to a close this month.

The singer-songwriter, 33, embarked on her latest tour in March and she's since traveled around the US to various venues. This has included the Grammy Award winner performing in cities like Nashville, Seattle and Tampa.

She's said to have gifted staff on the tour "generous" bonuses ahead of the North American leg concluding later this month. The tour will venture to South America next, before heading to other continents in the coming months.

According to People magazine, sources said Taylor recently gave bonuses totaling over $55million to everyone working on the tour. This is said to have included dancers, riggers, sound technicians, catering and others.

The outlet didn't state how many people received a bonus nor the figure awarded to each staff member. It was previously reported though that Taylor gave production truck drivers on the tour a $100,000 (£79,000) bonus each.

Taylor is said to have given bonuses to the truck drivers - who hauled her performance equipment around - before a concert over the weekend. TMZ reports that there are 50 truckers on the current leg, which would equate to around $5million (£4million) in bonuses for them alone.

The outlet reported earlier this week that it was an "end of the tour" bonus, as she prepares for the next leg. It added that other staff on the tour also received a "very generous amount" in bonuses from the acclaimed performer.

Taylor is set to perform several shows in Inglewood, California, over the coming days, marking the end of her concerts in the US for now. She'll then head to Mexico City in Mexico later this month, which marks the end of the opening North American leg.

She will subsequently perform in South America, before heading to other continents, including Europe, on the tour in the coming year. The Eras Tour - which heads to the UK in June next year - currently has dates up to August next year.

It isn't the first time that Taylor has made headlines for her apparent generosity. She was praised earlier in the tour for reportedly donating to a food bank in Michigan. She was said to have given a "generous donation" to the Gleaners Community Food Bank amid her concerts in the state.
