Angus Cloud seemed to be in good spirits just two days before his death at the age of 25.

The actor, who starred as Fezco on the hit HBO show Euphoria, died at his family's home in Oakland on Monday. Police have confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene and his cause of death is currently unknown.

Angus attended the album launch party of MacArthur Maze, a Bay Area-based rap group on Friday night. In posts shared on Instagram, he was seen with his close friend and the band's photographer, Josh Kennedy.

Angus was pictured laughing with his pals as they partied into the night. The star wore a patterned bandana tied around his head, which he paired with a cap.

In a statement shared with The Mirror, a spokesperson for The Oakland Police Department said they are "investigating a death that occurred today, July 31, 2023, just after 11:30 AM, in the 200 block of Euclid Avenue. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The cause of death is unknown. There's no additional information being released at this time. This is an active death investigation."

Angus' death was confirmed by his family in an emotional statement. It read: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways."

The statement, which was shared with TMZ, revealed his father had died recently and the star was struggling with his loss. It continued: "Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend."

The statement added that Angus was open about his battle with mental health. It said it is hoped his passing can be "a reminder to others that they are not alone".

His family told the publication they hoped Angus would be remembered for his humour, laughter and love for everyone. They also asked for privacy at this difficult time.

Speaking to The Sun, Josh explained how Angus had spoke about his plans for the future, adding how the actor had discussed directing a music video for the band.

"He was happy, very happy to be home. He was in Ireland for a while, we spoke about his dad recently, he was sad about it, but he seemed to be doing okay," he said.

He said he felt "sick" after receiving news of Angus' death. "I have no idea [what happened]. I've just basically been sitting here, trying to do other things and stay busy," he admitted.
