Tottenham consider Kane swap deal as Bayern look to kickstart transfer talks
Bayern Munich could potentially offer striker Mathys Tel to Tottenham in part-exchange for striker Harry Kane.
The German giants are pursuing the England captain as a priority target before the end of the transfer window as they aim to bolster their forward line. Bayern have already tabled two bids for Kane - the latest being around the £70m mark - but both have been rejected by Spurs.
The North London side and Daniel Levy remain keen to retain the 30-year-old’s services but might well be tempted into a part-exchange deal ahead of a round of face-to-face talks. Bayern want to meet with Spurs on Monday in an effort to thrash out an agreement.
According to The Telegraph, Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe will both travel to London for talks with Levy. Whilst Kane will be at the heart of those discussions, another striker is also thought to be on the agenda.
Reports in France claim that Spurs are interested in young forward Mathys Tel. The 18-year-old Frenchman only arrived at the Allianz Arena last summer in a €20m (£17.1m) switch from Rennes.

It is suggested that Bayern’s current plan is to keep Tel in Bavaria, although that could potentially change should they be handed the opportunity to sign Kane.

Speaking about Tel’s future, Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel said: “We will definitely discuss that – if something changes – very late in the transfer window.”
Whilst Bayern are aiming to seal a deal for Kane, it is also revealed that they face considerable competition. It is suggested that PSG are edging towards an agreement for the striker and would be willing to outbid any club in Europe for him.
Kane is not thought to be interested in a move to the French capital but regardless, it appears that his future could lie away from Tottenham. Club owner Joe Lewis has already issued an ultimatum to Levy to either sell the academy graduate this summer or commit him to a new deal, rather than risk losing him for free next summer.
Bayern in the meantime would be happy to go up to £86m in an effort to secure his signature. They are also confident that they would be to convince Kane to move to sign a pre-contract agreement in January.
The German giants could also be about to lose one of their first-team forwards sooner rather than later. Reports have suggested that former Liverpool star Sadio Mane is closing in on a move to Saudi side Al-Nassr.
He only signed for Bayern last summer but only scored 12 goals across 38 games in all competitions across what was a difficult debut campaign.
