James Martin has opened up on not having kids after he said he’s “given up everything” for his career.
The 51-year-old former Saturday Kitchen host is a hugely successful chef, owns a series of restaurants across the UK, including one in his home county of Yorkshire, and is worth a reported £5 million.
He also hosts his popular weekend show, James Martin’s Saturday Morning, on ITV every week, and cooks for a range of celebrity guests at his lavish Hampshire mansion.
Despite his fame, James has managed to keep his private life under wraps, and little is known about his relationship with Louise Davies, who he’s been dating since 2011 after meeting her on the set of the celebrity version of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.

“The biggest low of my career is that I’ve given up everything for it,” he told Prima magazine back in 2020.
But James has no regrets, even though his friends are “all married with kids” and he’s been “so focused on work”.
“The level of commitment it requires and the choices you have to make have a huge impact,” he admitted.

He's ruled out marriage and kids, and has no regrets (Dave Benett/Getty Images for For)Despite having some regrets, he confessed he’d make the same choices over and over again, as he’s proud of the career and restaurant empire he’s built.
“But would I do the same thing again? Probably, because it’s made me who I am,” James stated.

James rarely talks about his personal life, but in 2019, he said he was “not interested” in getting married and was “quite happy” without a ring on his finger.
“I don’t need to spend 60 grand on a day, no, I’m more than happy thanks,” the Yorkshireman told the Sunday People.
