Lauren Harries suffers 'life threatening' health setback after emergency surgery
Lauren Harries has suffered a 'life-threatening spinal tear' following her emergency surgery, her mum Katy has revealed in a devastating update.
The Celebrity Big Brother star has been in hospital for over three months now, having first been admitted back in April because of a mystery condition. The 45-year-old underwent an operation on her brain shortly after her arrival before being placed in a medically induced coma in June to control her seizures.
Lauren has now been struck by yet another health setback, after suffering a "life threatening spinal tear" earlier this week.
"She is having emergency surgery today, the first of two operations," her mum, Katy, wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. "This has meant she is in constant pain and unable to walk it could also lead to more bleeding on the brain. She has been through so much in her 3 1/2 months in hospital, this is her 3rd operation."

Unfortunately, the operation was 'unsuccessful', resulting in doctors' extending the hospital stay of the TV personality to look into other options.

"Her spine is concerning for doctors and she will be staying for longer," Katy informed her daughter's followers. "We don't know why or how this happened. She just wants to get home."
Lauren's fans were quick to offer the TV personality and her concerned mother their support, with many taking to Internet to send kind messages.
"Sending love and positivity," one person wrote, while another said, "Gosh bless her heart. Hope she's feeling better soon."

"She was awake for the whole thing," Katy tweeted. "She is unable to walk and has curled toes due to a split in her spine an MRI has shown." The star's worried mother also shared a photo of Lauren in a wheelchair in the hospital grounds, adding, "She loves you all."
Katy previously revealed that doctors have been "unable to diagnose" what's causing Lauren's symptoms, which include painful seizure that cause her "whole body to shake uncontrollably."
"The only thing keeping her going at the moment is you, her fans and her painting," she added.
