Locals brawl with tourists in beach carnage after they barged ashore in a dinghy

This is the moment furious beachgoers fought off a group of wealthy visitors from a posh yacht when they barged their way ashore on a dinghy.

Astonishing video footage of the dispute shows one grey-haired local felling a wetsuited visitor with a flying kung fu kick as the fight erupts.

The incident happened on the idyllic beach at Cala Lunga Beach on the La Maddalena archipelago in Italy's northern Sardinia region.

Not only is the use of motorised landing craft ruled dangerous for swimmers, including children, but it also causes damage to the shallow lagoon's wildlife.

So when a swaggering group of wealthy holidaymakers - believed to be Russian - landed on the beach in a powerful dinghy they faced a furious response from locals.

The angry mood exploded when one of the visitors apparently shoved a woman wearing a bikini out of the way as she tried to talk to him.

Within seconds her husband is seen flying through the air landing a martial arts drop kick at the man's chest.

As he rains down punch after punch on him he can be heard shouting: "You shoved my wife."

Then a second man in a wetsuit starts to grapple with him before a mob of locals break up the fight.

Finally - now certain they are not welcome - the visitors clamber back on their boat and sail away back to their yacht to the jeers and catcalls of locals.

Resort manager Francesco Vittiello told local media: "Unfortunately I have to note a particular rudeness on the part of foreign tourists.

"Too often the English, Germans and French arrive in our sea and do not respect the rules. Monitoring almost 200 kilometres of coast in La Maddalena is not easy."
