A major incident has been declared after a fire broke out at a restaurant in West Yorkshire.

Fire crews are tackling the blaze at Mangos takeaway, and a baby was treated at the scene by the ambulance service as a precaution.

A number of people were initially unaccounted for, but this is no longer the case, a fire spokeswoman told the BBC.

A nearby cinema - the Picture House in Keighley - said: "Hi everyone, due to the fierce fire at Mangos on North Street, we have been told for safety we cannot open the building.

"We hope to be open in time for the 4:40pm showing of Asteroid City and the 4:45pm screening of Elemental today."

As of 1.10pm, 15 crews from 13 fire stations remain at the scene tackling the blaze.

It is believed to have started in a cooker at the takeaway which reportedly spread to the extractor fan flue.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service said: "Firefighters are still at the incident in North Street, Keighley.

"The flats above the takeaway have been evacuated and we have no casualties.

"The scene is still closed at the junction of Alice Street and Mornington Street."

The major incident was declared because of the large emergency service response, said the spokeswoman.
