A 23-year-old man is fighting for his life after an attack outside a bar in Huddersfield which left him unconscious in the early hours of Saturday.

Emergency services rushed to Revolution Bar in Cross Church Street at around 4am and the man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

A cordon has been put up while a forensic examination takes place and it is still in place at the scene as police appeal to the public for more information.

Images later on Saturday showed Cross Church Street empty and taped off with police and a vehicle stopping people from heading down the road.

The incident is being investigated by homicide detectives.
