A French bulldog obsessed with British actor Henry Cavill has finally met her idol, as captured in a hilarious video. Rory's owner, Heather Land, first noticed her pooch's fascination with the star when she was watching The Witcher last year. The three-year-old pet's ears perked up every time the actor, also known for his starring role as Superman, graces the screen.

Keen to find out how far her dog's interest stretched, Rory and Heather then watched Man of Steel together - and she swears her pooch was transfixed. But in good news for the film-loving pup, who even has a 'shrine' dedicated to her hero, Rory finally got the chance to meet Cavill.

Luckily for the rest of us, Heather also captured the moment on camera. Shared as @rorythefrenchie, the video amazed TikTok users, racking up over seven million views. In the viral clip, Rory is first seen glued to the spot watching her idol on screen, before the footage jumps to the big day.

"Hey Rory," begins a smiling Cavill. Meanwhile, Rory, suited and booted in a glittery harness for the special occasion, immediately spots her idol across the room and makes her way over to him not long after.

Reacting to the heart-warming moment, one commenter said: "I will never get tired of this. Pure magic." A second thought: "She looked like she was trying to memorise his scent," and another wrote: "That was such a genuine smile from him. He was truly delighted." Someone else said: "She kept her cool way more than I ever could have."

However, others expected more interaction between the pair, but Heather quickly clarified the matter in a follow-up video. She explained that Cavill did not pet Rory because "he's respectful and you could tell that he knows dogs very well and he could tell that she didn't want to be petted."

Heather explained: "She moves out of the way when you try to pet her. She does what I call the duck and swerve. If we were in a smaller room and I could have taken her harness off she probably would have acted competently different and way more excited and let people pet her, especially Henry Cavill."

She concluded: "My takeaway from the whole thing is he is a very polite, good, nice man who respected Rory's boundaries. When she walked into that room and looked right at him that was a huge deal. Rory saw thousands of people that day and thousands of people during the week, and never a single time did she stop in her tracks and look any anybody, only Henry Cavill."
