Elle Edwards' dad vows to never mention killers name in heartbreaking confession

The heartbroken dad of a young woman fatally gunned down at a pub on Christmas Eve has given a heartbreaking interview on Good Morning Britain, where he vowed to never mention his daughter's killer's name.

Elle Edwards, 26, was tragically killed while out celebrating with her sister and friends at the Lighthouse pub in Wallsey Village, Wirral, shortly before midnight on December 24.

Connor Chapman, 22, has since been found guilty of her murder and sentenced to serve a minimum of 48 years in prison.

Seven months on from Elle's tragic death, her dad Tim spoke to Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls about how he hopes to finally move forward after justice was served when Chapman was given his life sentence.

Despite hoping to move on from the trauma, Tim has since vowed to never mention his daughter's killer's name out loud as he told the Good Morning Britain hosts: "He's not worthy of my energy. He has no part in my life whatsoever so I don't need to mention his name."

On whether or not remorse would have changed Tim's feelings towards Elle's killer, the grieving dad said: "No, not one bit . He never looked at me once. He could feel my anger, when he was in the dock he had to walk past me.

"I had to show restraint from doing what I wanted to do to him, obviously that was not the right thing to do. He could feel how angry I was."

Tim admitted that he hopes to now move on and remember his daughter for the way she lived instead of the way her life was cruelly taken from her.

Elle's grieving dad issued a heartfelt tribute to his late daughter as he said: "I remember her laugh.

"She was fun. She would light up a room. That's the thing we try to remember. The fun and caring side. She was doing what all 26 year old girls should be doing. Living her life. Having a go at succeeding at whatever she was trying to do," Tim gushed.

Both Susanna and Ed were visibly moved by Tim's heartfelt confession, and the emotions rose when Tim later revealed he always carries a piece of Elle with him in the form of a locket of his late daughter's hair.

"It makes her feel closer because she's with me everywhere I go," he said. "I wear it everyday. It's got a piece of her hair in it. She's with me then everywhere I go, she'll always be with me."

Good Morning Britain continues tomorrow at 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
