Antiques Roadshow guest in awe when told rare movie item is worth five figures
A guest on the US version of Antiques Roadshow was gobsmacked to find out an old and very rare movie item she had acquired was worth a massive five figure sum.
It was a shocking moment on the hit show when a very old movie clapperboard received an eye-watering estimation when airing on PBS in the week.
One guest was in for a huge surprise when she arrived at Wadsworth Mansion to chat to expert James Supp about a rare gem from behind-the-scenes of a blockbuster movie.
The lady who chatted to James, explained how she was in possession of a director’s clapperboard from the 1975 horror movie Jaws.

The lady explained how she was in possession of the rare item because her dad worked in transportation on the movie.
The guest's dad helped with moving and driving pieces of the set around, with him also transporting cast and crew behind-the-scenes too.
"He was friendly with the camera crew and one of them gave [the clapperboard] to him," the lady explained to the esteemed expert.
As well as bringing along the rare film item, the lady also showed off an old photograph of her dad posing with the fake Jaws shark from the film – as a way to prove the item's legitimacy.

Expert James offered: "Jaws ushered in the era of summer blockbusters – and it was the movie that put Steven Spielberg on the map."
They then spoke about the very unique feature that the rare clapperboard had.
At the top of the clapperboard were some white triangles to mimic shark teeth, so that when the clapperboard clapped, it looked as though it was the jaws of a shark.
The guest was taken aback"This type of clapperboard was known to have been made for Jaws, a couple of different versions, but they are exceedingly rare," expert James added.
Simon then said that the way in which the clapper has "jaws closing action" means it could be "worth quite a bit to collectors".

Giving his verdict on what it might be worth, the expert added: "If this were to come up at auction, I’d put an auction estimate on it of $25,000 to $35,000 on this."
The lady looked completely taken aback when she replied: "That’s awesome."
Fans have now weighed in on YouTube, with many claiming that it could be worth a lot more than what the expert had evaluated the item at.
One comment read: "Pretty sure this is one of those items that could fetch 3,4,5,X the estimate. The 'teeth' design alone adds tremendous value and makes it a ridiculously awesome display piece. Wealthy collectors wanting a truly iconic piece of movie history would be climbing over each other for this thing."
While another said: "Sometimes the items don't even get a bid.... and sometimes they go way beyond the estimate. I wouldn't be surprised if this item either got nothing or got $70,000."
