The FIFA 23 RTTF (Road to the Final) Team 1 is now available in Ultimate Team, with some fantastic-looking cards included.

A staple promo in FUT over recent years, the RTTF promo has now entered FIFA 23, awarding live player items to players in the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League that can upgrade based on their club's progress in the knockout stages. In FIFA 22, Real Madrid's Gareth Bale was upgraded to 95 rated overall after winning the Champions League, showing just how good these players could become.

A selection of incredible cards have been released in Team 1, with Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka, Liverpool's Roberto Firmino and Real Madrid's David Alaba all receiving Champions League RTTF items. Stars from Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United have all received Europa League RTTF items as well as a bunch of others from all three European competitions.

The FIFA 23 RTTF Team 1 squad is now live in Ultimate Team packs and will be available until Friday, February 25 at 5.59pm GMT/ 12.59pm ET/ 9.59am PT.

FIFA 23 Road to the Finals (RTTF) upgrade system

EA has introduced a new upgrade system for RTTF in FIFA 23, including skill moves and weak foot upgrades, similar to the 2022 World Cup Path to Glory upgrade system earlier in FIFA 23. All three competitions follow the same upgrade guidelines.

Here's how the upgrades will work for each competition:

  • Win 1st knockout game after campaign launch - +1 in-form upgrade
  • Quality for Quarter-Finals - +1 in-form upgrade
  • Qualify for Semi-Finals - +1 in-form upgrade and three new traits
  • Qualify for Final - 5-star weak foot upgrade

  • Win Final - +1 in-form upgrade and 5-star skill moves upgrade

Players will receive upgrades based on their team's performance, so once they are eliminated from the competition, they can no longer receive upgrades. A player does not need to feature in the game in any way to receive the upgrade.

Each RTTF upgrade will occur at the end of each week when the stage of the competition has concluded. Here are the dates that upgrades should be made in-game, according to the leaker.

  • 1st upgrade: Friday, February 24
  • 2nd upgrade: Friday, March 17
  • 3rd upgrade: Friday, April 21
  • 4th upgrade: Friday, May 19
  • 5th upgrade: Friday, June 12
