Ciryl Gane has kindly rejected Khabib Nurmagomedov's offer to train in Dagestan in a bid to improve his wrestling.

UFC legend Nurmagomedov suggested Gane should visit his home region after the Frenchman was out-grappled by Francis Ngannou in their title fight last year. "Ciryl Gane, come to Dagestan brother. Come to Dagestan. You have to come, stay there for one maybe two years. Learn about wrestling and how to wrestle. His last fight showed his weakness, he has to learn how to wrestle. Bring your coaches," Nurmagomedov said.

Gane also showed his wrestling weakness against Jon Jones in March as he was tapped out by 'Bones' in less than two minutes. The former interim titleholder is grateful that Nurmagomedov offered to take him under his wing, but insisted that he can't leave his family and children in France to go and train in another country.

"This is really kind of him, but I have another job and that's to be a father," Gane told Mirror Fighting. "I have two daughters and this is a big job, people underestimate this. To leave my family for six months for me impossible, some people talk about one year and stuff like that. If I go for two or three weeks, my family misses me a lot. To bring some people to the gym, that is possible. Having those high level guys in judo, wrestling and boxing."

Gane looks to rebound after missing out on the UFC heavyweight title against Jones when he faces Serghei Spivac in the main event of UFC Paris in September. 'Bon Gamin' reflected on his fast rise through the ranks in MMA, having only made his professional debut in the cage five years ago.

"Just four years ago nobody knew me and it was easy to sleep in the gym, now it's different. I've got a lot solicitation so I must manage this also," he added. "Like everyone in this sport when you have success you must prepare for life after your career. Just like Conor McGregor and Khabib have done, preparing for life after fighting. This makes sense because you cannot fight for 30 years. I was already in a rush when I started MMA, we did fight after fight so that's why my career has gone so fast also."

Ciryl Gane headlines the UFC’s second ever Paris event against Serghei Spivac on September 2. Tickets will go on general sale at 9 a.m. BST on Friday, June 23, via Accor Arena
