One couple found that greedy holidaymakers hogging all the sun-loungers were spoiling their time away until they got their revenge.

Thom and Lisa were trying to enjoy their time away in Bali but were shocked when they got up at the crack of dawn just to find someone had already taken the sun-loungers by the pool.

The Australian couple found unattended beach towels spread across the afternoon loungers before 6.30am at the Grand Barong Resort in Bali.

Putting a towel across a lounger is a universal sign it's taken, but often becomes a point of contention as people compete to get and keep a hold of the best spots.

The couple patiently waited for nine hours before tossing the towels aside and taking the seats for themselves.

Only for the people who had put them down in the first place to finally show up.

But Thom wasn’t done there and dished out some “petty” revenge to the sun-lounge hoggers.

Sharing his story on Facebook, Thom said: “We woke up this morning, noticed towels already placed on the afternoon shade sunbeds.

“We went about our day and eventually arrived at the pool at 1pm to the beds untouched, nobody in sight. At 2pm we told pool staff we were moving the towels as nobody had been on them.

“We then waited until 3:30pm for them to eventually arrive and the realisation that their spots are gone, iPads and books in hand was priceless.”

After the guilty culprits finally arrived, Thom and Lisa made sure they wouldn’t get their hands on the sun-loungers, even after they had gone.

Lisa added: “We literally left and asked others to take them just to keep the pettiness going.”

Some people who read their story online celebrated their pettiness and revenge.

One person wrote: “Am I the only one hoping there’s a day two to this situation?”

Others said they would’ve done the “same” whilst a third person said it was “proof that not all heroes wear a cape”.
