A Place in the Sun viewers were quick to point out an “awkward” moment on the show, when a pair of buyers refused to look around one of the properties that was being presented to them.

Fitness instructor Katie and her son Michael said there was “no point” in being shown around the residence, as it didn't compare to the previous options they had already seen.

Presenter Jean Johansson had been tasked with helping Katie find her dream two-bedroom home in Cyprus within a budget of £83,000.

Michael said: "It can be one or two bedrooms but it has to be nice outside, definitely a pool and a view."

One of the properties she showed the mother and son was situated on a building complex in lower Peyia.

Located near to a beach and including a swimming pool, Katie and Michael said that they loved the view and the amenities.

However, upon stepping over the threshold, they immediately said it was “a lot smaller”.

Michael remarked: "I think the living room is small and if there is another bedroom there, with this pool and view, that would be absolutely perfect."

Jean reminded them: "When you are on a holiday, you don't spend any time inside. You are either on a balcony or out on a beach. I want to show you so you know which are your priorities."

The presenter then moved them onto the third property, which was much larger, with two bedrooms and a huge living room.

Despite the property being within their budget, Katie and Michael were not impressed, citing the ordinary-looking swimming pool and the views outside as major deal breakers.

After stepping inside, the pair halted the viewing.

Michael said: "It's not the same as the others. The views and the outside. If you were going to go that high up with the budget then you've got to be like 'wow, I really want this.'"

They both said that the property didn't “have enough to make them want to spend the money.”

Jean then asked the question: "Is there any point in me showing you around the rest?

To which Katie replied: "Not really, no."

However, not all viewers of the show were impressed with the mother and son’s attitude, calling for them to make some compromises.

One user said: "It’s swings and roundabouts. Pool is smaller but you don’t have to share a bed with your mum."

Another added: "A bit rude aren’t they?," while a third penned: "No views?"

A fourth wrote: "But ARE you alright with the compromise? Hmmmmmmm."
