World champion boxer leaves TV star with broken rib after 11 seconds of 'fight'
An Australian TV star has had his ribs broken within 11 seconds of a 'kebab boxing' match with world interim super-welterweight champion Tim Tszyu for a new show.
Comedian Tommy Little had come up with the idea of 'KeBoxing', in which he would dress up as a kebab and eat one between rounds, but didn't get anywhere near the bell before being stopped by Tszyu. It took just two punches for Little to go down, wincing in pain and declaring the fight was over leaving him no chance to get to the corner.
And in a skit posted on the YouTube account of his radio sow Carrie and Tommy, Tszyu can be heard telling the comedy star that he plans to go to the body, aiming for his 'Little Liver'. The boxer, who has knocked out 16 of his 22 opponents, showed his power, landing cleanly and leaving his opponent floored.
“I’m going to leave the judges out of it and award you the win," Little joked after the bout, before declaring that Tszyu is "a world champ but he’s also a really ripper guy.” For his part, the boxing star was humble in victory, declaring his opponent was "good" despite only lasting seconds.
But it appears the stunt has cost Little severely, with the radio host joking during the following episode of his show with Carrie Bickmore that he was unable to function at 100 per cent after having one of his ribs broken. “I can’t cough, sneeze, burp, fart, have sex, breathe deeply so I went to get a scan," he explained. “Great news, lung not collapsed. My rib is broken - I heard it crack when he hit me.”

In an interesting twist of fate, it now appears that the boxer may also be in trouble with an injury, as his next title defence against Carlos Ocampo on June 18 is in the balance following a dog bite. It is expected that he will be recovered in time for the fight, but he was hospitalised by the incident leading No Limit Boxing CEO George Rose to make a statement on the matter.
"Like everyone, I was shocked and worried when I first heard the news,' Rose told media after news emerged of the bite. "It's certainly not the ideal preparation anytime a fighter ends up in hospital a few weeks out from world title fight but the best news right now is that Tim is doing ok."
The undefeated boxer was rushed to hospital on Sunday and required emergency surgery after his right arm was bitten by a dog. He had been due to face Jermell Charlo for the undisputed belts earlier this year, but a broken hand for the American has led to multiple delays, meaning Tszyu had demanded the Ocampo fight to stay busy before fighting for undisputed later in the year.
