Chelsea face Newcastle United in the final match of their Premier League season, with Frank Lampard taking charge of the last game of his interim managerial spell ahead of Mauricio Pochettino's expected arrival.

Defeat could see the Blues fall as far as 14th in the table, meaning that they could equal their lowest ever finish in the Premier League. Newcastle, meanwhile, could attain their highest top-flight finish since Sir Bobby Robson guided them to third place during the 2002/03 season.

Chelsea replaced Newcastle in the top four the following season, with Roman Abramovich's arrival bringing with it close to two decades of consistent silverware. However, the Magpies' ascent into the top four at, at Chelsea's expense, following the arrival of new ownership at both clubs could highlight a changing of the guard at the summit of English football.

Despite little to play for, Chelsea's fans will be keen to see a response following Thursday's 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United. That win lifted United above Newcastle in the table, with the Magpies now needing a win and a United slip up in their match at home to Fulham.
