Former senior Disney boss Dave Hollis has died aged 47 after suffering a "heart-related issue" - as tributes pour in for the "phenomenal father".

The corporation's worldwide distribution president, who played a key role in rebooting the Star Wars franchise, passed away on Saturday at his home in Austin, Texas.

He was behind the teams responsible for relaunching the Avengers series, Frozen and Ryan Coogler’s blockbuster superhero film Black Panther.

Dave had worked for the global company until 2018 when he resigned from his role to move to Texas with his family – who feature all over his colourful social media pages.

A cause of death is not yet confirmed, but Dave's representatives told the Independent that Dave was recently hospitalised for a "heart-related issue".

He is survived by his four children with ex-wife Rachel called Jackson, Sawyer and Ford, and daughter Noah – he and Rachel divorced back in 2020 after 16 years married.
