A place in the Europa Conference League final is still up for grabs but it is Basel who are in the driving seat with a one-goal advantage after beating tournament's top scorers Fiorentina on their own turf as they welcome the Serie A club to St Jakob-Park. Neither side have been able to address the issues in their respective defensive lines but that should be enough encouragement for their strikers to take advantage of the leaks in what could become a goalfest.

Despite the 2-1 lead on aggregate, it is the Serie A side who are still the bookies favourite going into this match with Betfred pricing the visitors up at 8/11 while Basel are 16/5 to secure their place in the final and a draw is 16/5.

In the first leg, the Swiss outfit fought back from behind with second half goals from Andy Diouf and Zeki Amdouni as they look to secure their first European final but it has been a domestic season to forget for the 20-time league winners. They were thrashed at home 6-1 at St Gallen in a Super League fixture on Sunday, sit just four points from a Europa Conference League spot next season and have gone five home games without a win - a good omen for the Italian club.

Frustrated by their performance in the first leg, Fiorentina will be looking to make things right as they look to secure a ticket to the Sinobo Stadium in June. Vincenzo Italiano's side are the top scorers with 33 goals in the competition in 13 matches - an average just over 2.5 goals per game.
