Aaron Chalmers has hit out at Floyd Mayweather for splashing the cash instead of promoting their exhibition fight later this month.

Boxing legend Mayweather, 45, continues his exhibition tour on February 25 when he faces former reality TV star turned MMA fighter Chalmers at The O2 arena. 'Money' retired from professional competition with a flawless 50-0 record five years ago but has since competed in exhibition fights around the world, most recently stopping YouTuber Deji last November.

Chalmers, who is mostly known for his time on MTV's Geordie Show, has been left frustrated with the lack of press Mayweather has been doing ahead of their fight. The 35-year-old joked that his back and shoulders are in pain less than two weeks out from the exhibition after "carrying" the promotion.

"I've just been to the doctors and unfortunately the fight is going to have to be called off. They said there is too much pressure and strain in my back and shoulders from carrying this whole f****ng show. I'm doing all the press, I'm doing all of the media, I'm doing all of the call-out videos while Floyd is walking around buying pink Birkin f****ng handbags," Chalmers said.

"So while he's buying handbags, I'm doing everything, literally everything. He's walking around with 30 security guards so all I'm going to say is this time next week, 50-1.

Chalmers has an MMA record of 5-2 and hasn't fought since winning his professional boxing debut last June against journeyman Alexander Zelodon. 'The Joker' will now step in the ring for the second time against arguably the greatest boxer of all time in Mayweather, with fans being forced to pay £32 for the exhibition fight.

Just days before his fight against the former five-weight world champion, Chalmers' baby son Oakley will undergo major head surgery. The Geordie admitted that he was in a bad place before Christmas but is now relishing the opportunity to face Mayweather and is hopeful it will set up future bouts against YouTuber boxers.

"Towards December I even started questioning myself, thinking 'am I being f***ing crazy?' The lowest point of my life, it was horrendous. But I kept plugging away and then five weeks later here we are. I just will not give up, when I think something's going to come I refuse to give up and that's why I'm in this position," Chalmers told Mirror Fighting .

"For me, this couldn't have come at a better time. It's the start of the year and then that opens the doors for the big boys, the big names in influencer boxing. This puts me right back in the mix with Jake Paul, Tommy Fury, KSI where towards the end of last year I thought they were creeping away from me."
