Actor Stephen Tompkinson arrives at court to stand trial over GBH allegations
Actor Stephen Tompkinson has been photographed arriving at court to stand trial today accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
The 57-year-old TV star, most well known for ITV's DCI Banks and Channel 4's Drop the Dead Donkey, arrived at Newcastle Crown Court today.
He wore a light grey suit with a checked pattern on along with a blue shirt and tie underneath.
Tompkinson is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm of a man named Karl Poole on May 30, 2021.
In September, Tompkinson appeared at the crown court for a trial preparation hearing, where he entered a not guilty plea, as he had done at Newcastle Magistrate’s Court the previous month.

Tompkinson, of Whitley Bay, is known for starring in Wild at Heart as Danny Trevanion, Truckers as Malachi Davies, Trollied as Brian and The Split as Davey McKenzie.
Between 1990 and 1998, he appeared as Damien Day in Drop the Dead Donkey.
He played the lead role in DCI Banks, which aired from 2010 to 2016.
The actor had roles in many stage productions including A Christmas Carol, Tartuffe, Love's Labour's Lost and The Boys from Syracuse.
He starred as Frank Bryant in the 2021 stage adaptation of Educating Rita.
