RIVER USK (3.28, nap) is fancied to make a splash in the In The Box With Martin Spencer Handicap at Beverley on Monday.

The three-year-old, trained by Yorkshire trainer Richard Fahey, was runner-up of nine in a 6f handicap at Catterick on heavy ground on his reappearance earlier this month.

Prominent throughout under Monday's jockey Oisin Orr, he stayed on well in the final furlong but could not quite catch the winner, We'renotreallyhere, finishing a length adrift.

That run should put him spot-on for this and, back up in trip to just over seven furlongs and on slightly better ground, he should be there or thereabouts from an unchanged mark.

Kempton hosts an interesting jumps meeting and QUEENS ROCK (4.15, nb) looks the pick of the card in the 2m5f Local Foodbank Handicap Hurdle.

The Nicky Henderson-trained son of Shirocco made a mockery of her opening handicap mark after a breathing operation when an easy winner over nearly two and a half miles at Doncaster in February.

She was always in the front rank under Nico de Boinville before cruising clear two out to beat Maid On The Moon by six-and-a-half lengths, easing down near the line.

Connections were pondering running my selection in a Listed contest at Cheltenham last month so the six-year-old should be well up to this Class 4 race despite an 11lb rise.

De Boinville again takes the ride.
