Paul Burrell left I'm A Celebrity viewers giggling as he mistakenly called a piece of gym equipment, something totally different.

The former royal butler, 64, is appearing in the first South African version of the hit ITV show where former campmates have made a return to battle it out for the I'm A Celeb Legend title.

Yet Paul left many viewers amused with his slip-up on Wednesday night's pre-recorded show.

Whilst sat in camp, Paul was sharing his home workout regime to his fellow campmates.

In a strange turn of events, he ended up saying he uses a "cross-dresser" rather than a cross-trainer.

He explained: "I get home and go on the cross-dresser."

I'm A Celeb star Janice Dickinson was left confused as she tried to figure out what Paul meant.

She quipped back: "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it, you look good."

Viewers at home second guessed if they heard what Paul had said, with one person joking: "That's a different type of workout."

Another asked: "Did Paul Burrell just say when he's on the cross dresser?"

"Paul Burrell getting the cross trainer confused with a cross dresser," commented a third.

The I'm A Celebrity official account also questioned: "Did @paulburrell_RVM just say cross-dresser instead of cross-trainer? That's a different kind of workout! #ImACeleb".

Just minutes into the new series fronted by Ant and Dec, Paul was slammed for name-dropping Princess Diana and the late Queen.

The former footman to the late Monarch served Her Majesty for ten years and disclosed what happened at bath time whilst in camp, leaving Janice Dickinson blown away.

Paul revealed that the Queen never ran a bath herself and had never been required to "put the plug in", while he prepared several towels for the matriarch of the House of Windsor.

Peaking out from her sleeping bag, supermodel Janice Dickinson asked: "Did you have to like... Give the Queen a bath?"

"She did that herself," Paul explained, before adding: "You have to set the towels out in a special way and royals never run their baths, they're run for them."

He added: "So they never have to put the plug in."

Paul worked for the Royal Household at the age of 18, becoming a footman in Buckingham Palace.

He was later made the personal footman to Queen Elizabeth, working alongside the Monarch on her day-to-day business in a private capacity.

In 1987, Paul left Buckingham Palace and joined the household of the then Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales.
