There's no keeping Manchester United out of the headlines right now, with their hectic schedule continuing and talk over a takeover ramping up.

It's been nearly three months since the Glazer family announced that they were "exploring strategic alternatives" which got fans giddy over the prospect of their much-maligned reign coming to an end after 18 years. Bidders are lining up with proposals ahead of next Friday's initial deadline for first offers, with a group of investors from Qatar emerging as serious contenders earlier this week.

Erik ten Hag is only concerned about matters on the pitch for now, though, as United head into their second clash in five days with Leeds on Sunday afternoon. His side are hoping to get back to winning ways following Wednesday's disappointing 2-2 draw, especially with the first leg of a Europa League play-off clash with Barcelona to come next Thursday.

Here's a round-up of the latest news from Old Trafford.

Ten Hag sends new owners transfer message

Erik ten Hag has told whoever becomes Manchester United's new owners that they'll have stump up the funds necessarily for him to complete his Old Trafford rebuild. While the actual rebuild of the club's famous stadium will be one key aspect of any potential takeover, so is Ten Hag's ambition to bring the Red Devils back to the top table of European football.

After United held back in the January transfer window amid the uncertainty surrounding the Glazers' future as owners, their manager knows that cash is king in the English top flight. "For a long time I think the Premier League was always a two-horse race," Ten Hag explained. "But now I think it's a six, seven, eight-horse race. It's about strategy - but also, of course, it's about finance."

Glazers split over sale

The Glazer family remain split on whether or not to sell Manchester United should a buyer fall short of their £5billion asking price, it's been claimed. Members of the American family , who've had full control at Old Trafford since becoming the Red Devils' principal owners in 2005, are said to be divided by different stances, according to The Times.

Meanwhile, ESPN add that Glazers could be searching for an investor to take a majority stake in the club, rather than sanction a full sale. It's said that the deadline for initial proposals is next Friday, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe the only party confirmed to be in the running.

Ten Hag firm on Maguire future

Harry Maguire still has a future at Manchester United, according to the man who's verdict matters most, Erik ten Hag. Having been linked with a move to Inter Milan during the January transfer window, plenty pundits and fans are suggesting that it'd be best for the 29-year-old to depart this summer after losing his place at centre-back to Raphael Varane.

But Ten Hag isn't ushering him out the door, saying: "I'm really happy with Harry Maguire. I think he's progressing really well and in the games he is playing, he is doing really well. But we have big competition. Harry is right-footed - a big competitor with Raphael Varane, who is also a brilliant player."
