Emmerdale star hints at soap return amid Kim Tate twist as Caleb 'link' exposed

Emmerdale actor Alexander Lincoln has teased a return for Jamie Tate - amid the huge Nicky and Caleb twist.

The pair have made it their mission to take on the Tates, after it was revealed Caleb is Frank Tate's son from a brief fling he had with Faith Dingle. Caleb is adamant he and Nicky deserve all the riches of the Tate family, which Kim is desperately holding on to.

There has long been talk about Jamie returning to the village, now it's well known amongst village residents that he faked his death and is actually alive - but could his return coincide with Caleb's masterplan?

As bosses of the soap teased there's another big return this year, many fans are convinced Jamie could be back. Whilst none of this is confirmed yet, Alex did reveal producers are really keen to have him back on the show.

Speaking to The Sun, he said when asked if Emmerdale bosses want him back: "Yes definitely, It's a conversation that I've had quite a few times. At the moment I'm quite enjoying this vibe and writing, so we'll see what happens in the future."

Despite having left the soap a number of years back, Alex is still close to the cast although isn't able to see them as much as he'd like.

"I loved it there. It was the first place I worked at and I try to keep up as much as I can," he added, "I'm still friends with the cast, I still see Lawrence [Robb] a little bit, not as much as I'd like to as I don't go up north that much anymore. I do speak to quite a few people."

Could Caleb be working with Jamie?

A mystery character called Adrian is working with Caleb - with some fans thinking it's actually Jamie. One mused: "Adrian? what are the chances it's jamie #Emmerdale," whilst another shared: "I will not rise to the bait that 'Adrian' is Jamie because they have dashed my dreams too many times. But please be so that he is him because you know it's nearly my birthday #emmerdale."

Others think Jamie could actually come back and save Kim - and help bring Caleb and Nicky down whilst some suggested there was another familial connection between the different characters.

"Jamie or Joe Tate have to tie into this somewhere? I wonder if Nicky is Joe's cousin or brother #Emmerdale."

It looks like a Jamie Tate return could certainly be on the cards, it'll just be a case of when!
