Southwest Airlines has praised its flight attendants for their response after a passenger threw an epic tantrum mid-air. The angry passenger has gone viral after being recorded screaming and shouting across the plane at the parents of a crying baby.

He ordered them to "calm the child down" after listening to its cries for "45 minutes" - and said if they failed to do so, he would scream in retaliation. In the video, uploaded by @bad_ideas_galore on TikTok, the man is heard shouting: "There is a child crying on the flight, non-f***ing-stop. Calm the child down, please. I'm not screaming. Do you want me to scream? I'll f***ing scream.

"We are in a f***ing tin can with a baby in a goddamn echo chamber and you wanna talk to me about being f***ing OK?"

While most passengers tried to hide their laughter, a flight attendant stepped in to try to defuse the situation.

He tried to explain how the man's continuous shouting wasn't helping to calm the child - but was rudely cut off by the problematic passenger.

The outraged man continued: "So is the baby! Did that motherf***er pay extra to yell? F**k you and shut up."

After landing at Orlando Airport, the passenger was seen trying to plead his case to the police, reportedly claiming he had a right to yell because the baby was yelling.

In response to the video, a Southwest Airlines spokesperson told Today.com: "We do not have details on this flight to share but commend our flight crew for their professionalism and offer our apologies to the other customers onboard."

However, while some social media users agreed he was "out of line" for screaming at a crying baby, others claim they would have done the same if put in this situation.

One user said: "Everyone on the plane was thinking it but he was the one to say it - and he said it badly."

Another user added: "I have three kids and I would go a bit insane listening to a child yell like that for 45 minutes."

A third user said: "I would have been the other one crying because this would send me into a full blown panic attack."

One more user added: "He's complaining about to kid crying but he’s a whole grown ass man having a temper tantrum. Ok, crybaby sir."
