BBC Breakfast viewers fume as hosts urged 'stop speaking' to millionaire guest
Sally Nugent and Jon Kay were slammed by BBC Breakfast viewers over a segment on age reversal entrepreneur Bryan Johnson's quest for eternal youth.
On Tuesday's instalment, Sally and Jon spoke with Lara Lewington who interviewed the millionaire.
The business has spent $2million a year on his goal of trying to reverse his body's ageing process, with the help of a team of doctors.
BBC Breakfast viewers weren't impressed with the light-hearted segment and took to Twitter to blast the interview.
One frustrated viewer wrote: "Why are you wasting time on this rich, deluded fool, trying to get younger? Stop speaking about him with such glee and enthusiasm. What a waste of time for you and us. And a huge waste of money by him. Pathetic."
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessAnother fumed: "This techbro on BBC Breakfast isn't going to live forever, he's just going to bore everyone else to death," and a third added: "HAD TO TURN THE MUPPET SHOW OFF THIS MORNING!"
During the interview, Bryan told Lara: "I refer to myself as a professional rejuvenation athlete. It's a new sport I want to create. I'm not a bio-hacker, I'm not a health enthusiast, I am a professional rejuvenation athlete, I love it!"
The millionaire shared his regime with Lara as he admitted he's been working hard to reverse the clock with exercise, supplements and taking part in a number of clinical trials.
He explained his epigenetic age has fallen from 47 to 42.5.
The age reversal entrepreneur has received criticism for his quest but previously hit out at the backlash.
He said: "It's not whether one wants to live forever. It's whether you want to live tomorrow. One day at a time. Somehow, tomorrow always has something to offer."
The millionaire also took to Twitter to defend his regime after receiving criticism for his "health starter kit".
He wrote: "You'd rather die than eat veggies/nuts/berries / + misery must consume me / + anything not like today's norms is dystopia / + you'd be joyed if I was hit by a bus / + u wish I knew your joy of pizza / + donuts. "Now level up!"
